Pakistan’s food crisis has taken a severe turn as atta (wheat flour) prices have doubled within months. From PKR 60 to 120 per kilo, the staple food has become unaffordable for millions. The country’s largest government warehouses in Islamabad and Rawalpindi now stand empty.
Since April, prices of essential food items have surged sharply, pushing the nation towards economic desperation. Reports indicate Pakistan may now be forced to seek food aid from other countries to cope with the shortage.
